The cookie we need
ga_session — a session cookie holding a random token. It is how the server knows you are signed in. It is httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it; SameSite=Lax, so another site cannot cause your browser to send it; and it expires after 30 days or when you sign out, whichever comes first.
The token is stored on our side as a hash, so a leak of our session store would not hand anyone a working session.
The cookie that remembers your answer
ga_ads — holds “yes” or “no”, your answer to the question about advertising cookies, and nothing else. “Allow” is kept for 180 days, so you are not asked again in that time. “No thanks” is kept until you close your browser, and you are asked again on your next visit. It is set for growahead.in and app.growahead.in together, so that you are asked once and not on each.
Only if you allow them: Meta’s advertising cookies
_fbp — set by Meta’s script once you have allowed it: a random identifier for your browser, kept for about three months.
_fbc — set only if you came here from one of our advertisements: Meta’s identifier for that click, kept for about three months.
Meta’s script also talks to facebook.com, where Meta can read its own cookies if you use Facebook or Instagram in the same browser. What Meta is told, and what it is never sent, is in the Privacy Policy under “Advertising measurement”.
What we do not set
No analytics cookies. No advertising cookies unless you chose “Allow”, and none from any advertising company other than Meta.
Other browser storage
Some pages keep small preferences in your browser’s local storage — which tab you were on, for instance. That stays in your browser, is never sent to us, and clearing your site data removes it.
Changing your answer
Your answer is shown here, and you can change it at any time. Switching Meta’s cookies off stops anything more being sent to Meta and deletes its cookies for this site from your browser; its script is not loaded again.
You have not answered yet, so Meta’s advertising cookies are not in use in this browser.
Refusing cookies
You can block cookies in your browser. The consequence is direct: without the session cookie you cannot stay signed in, and none of the products will work. There is no version of a signed-in account that does not need it.
Refusing Meta’s cookies costs nothing: everything works the same without them.
